The city of Ohrid is situated on the shores of Lake Ohrid in the southwest of Macedonia. It represents a large cultural centre with its natural and historical features. The city is rich in picturesque houses and monuments, and tourism is predominant. In 1979 and in 1980 respectively, Ohrid and Lake Ohrid were accepted as Cultural and Natural World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.  

The 16th Conference of the Society of Physicists of Macedonia will take place in the Congress Centre - Ohrid, situated in one of the most attractive locations on the coast of the Ohrid Lake.
